JJM Music School

JJM Music School is a brand new facility based within JJM Studios that is committed to providing the highest level of teaching anywhere in the Midlands. All of our tutors are experienced professional musicians that specialise in teaching beginner, intermediate or advanced level students.

The objective of JJM Music School is to provide the training required for students to realise their ambitions in today’s music industry. Students benefit from

  2. The one to one or group teaching from tutors who are all active industry professionals and specialists in their field. Any type of playing, training and level can be catered for.

Tutors

Elliott Blower – BMus(Hons) – Drums
Drum tutor Elliott has been playing and performing drums for 10 years, during which time he has gained extensive experience in recording gigging and teaching. He has played with many different bands and musicians and has extensive live performance experience, playing nationwide as well as studio recording, radio and touring experience. He has been mentored by several teachers, studying styles such as rock, funk, latin, world, jazz, pop, reggae, RnB and soul and is proficient in teaching all styles and abilities. Most recently, he acquired a BMUS Popular Music degree from the University of Wolverhampton. Elliott also has part endorsments with AD Drums and Pellwood Drumsticks and has played along side (supported/co-headlined) artists such as:

- The Farm ('All Together Now')

- Dave Ball (Procal Harum, Cozy Powell)

- Dylan Elise (Independant drummer)

- Mitchel Emms (BBC's - The Voice)

James Tolley – BA(Hons) – Bass Guitar
James studied popular Music Performance at the University of Wolverhampton, where he achieved first class with Honours. James is heavily involved in the midlands music scene, teaching, performing and running his own gigs. He is highly passionate about every aspect of the bass guitar, an attitude that permeates his teaching style, as every slight improvement or understanding in a student becomes a cause for celebration. James can teach a wide range of styles, from absolute beginners to more advanced students. James focuses on what you want to learn, and hopes to inspire his students to take their playing to the next level.

Elliot G – BMus(Hons) – Guitar
Elliot started playing guitar at the age of 13 on a diet of classic rock. Over the years his taste has widened into all styles of music. Performing pretty much from day one meant that Elliot gained a lot of playing experience before attending the finest school of music, The Guitar Institute. Over the past several years, Elliot has been teaching, working as a session musician and can be seen playing all over the country and abroad.

Lumi HD - BMus (Hons) Popular Music - Vocals

Having recently graduated from Wolverhampton Uni with a first class degree, Lumi gigs around the UK and Europe performing original tracks. She is in the process of recording an EP, set to be released end of February/beginning of March. As a singer-songwriter, Lumi regular works with her band to develop midlands influenced jazz, soul and folk music. She has taught vocals privately for 2 years, obtained a Rock School Licentiate in Performance with distinction and is presently working toward a teaching certificate with Birmingham Music Service. 

Alongside vocal technique, lessons feature aspects of performance, confidence and styling. Get in touch, regardless of whether you have aspirations of stardom or simply want to develop your bathroom voice. 

Leon Van Den Broecke – BMus(Hons), QTS – Trumpet, Cornet, Trombone, Tenor Horn, Bass Guitar
Leon is a fully qualified music teacher with over 15 years experience teaching Music in secondary schools, colleges and privately. Leon is also an EdExcel examination moderator for GCSE and A level Music. Leon also plays Bass Guitar for Midlands Rock group Long Day Gone who have extensively gigged all across the country and released numerous singles. With a 100% pass rate and being ABRSM registered, students can expect an excellent and experienced level of teaching and achieve their full potential with carefully prepared lessons and support. Leon specialises in teaching ABRSM Music Theory Exams Grades 1-8, GCSE Music (Examination Boards- OCR, AQA, EdExcel, WJEC), A Level Music (Examination Boards- OCR, AQA, EdExcel, WJEC), Music at Degree level (Popular Music and Classical Music Degrees) and Composition and Song-Writing.
